Modernized Nostalgia

For Open, a multi-sided restaurant marketplace, I developed a distinct brand identity that pays homage to local restaurants both visually and metaphorically. Especially that feeling of "coming home" to the third place of your favorite local spot, often distinguished by its charming, nostalgic, neon open sign.

The brand harmonizes humanity with expressiveness, and elegance with utility, reflecting the dynamic nature of restaurants and the people they hold.

Following the brand and web work, I partnered with Open's founder to spec and design the Open app experience from scratch.
